Clarkco State Park
Clarkco sits on a quiet 65-acre lake surrounded by mixed pine and hardwood forest. The campground has 20 sites with water and electric hookups, plus a handful of primitive sites back in the trees. Most sites are level gravel pads with decent spacing. The lake stays stocked with bass and bream, and there’s a small boat ramp if you’re hauling a kayak or canoe.
Access is straightforward via Highway 145, about 15 miles east of Quitman. The park sees steady local use on weekends but rarely fills up. No reservations required — it’s first-come, first-served. Open year-round, though the best fishing is spring through fall.
Quiet lakefront camping with decent hookups.
