Groton State Forest Boulder Beach Campground
Boulder Beach sits on the eastern shore of Lake Groton, offering a mix of wooded and lakefront campsites spread across multiple loops. Most sites can handle larger rigs, with electrical hookups available in some loops. The campground features hot showers, flush toilets, and a small beach area for swimming. It serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the Worcester Range Backbone Trail or the Millstone Hill Quarry circuits — both are within 30 minutes.
Reservations strongly recommended during peak summer and fall seasons. The campground typically opens in mid-May and closes after Columbus Day weekend. Sites 45-69 are closest to the lake but fill up fastest. Fire permits required during dry conditions, and the ranger station can provide current trail conditions for the surrounding Groton State Forest road network.
