Burke Mountain Fire Tower

Fire Lookout

The steel frame fire tower crowns Burke Mountain’s 3,267-foot summit, built in 1930 and still standing strong. Climb the stairs for sweeping views across Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, New Hampshire’s White Mountains, and on clear days, Mount Washington. The tower is accessible via the Burke Mountain hiking trail network or the auto road during summer.

The auto toll road operates seasonally and requires payment at the base — check with Burke Mountain Resort for current status. Popular spot during fall foliage when the views are spectacular. Parking area at the base of the tower with picnic tables. Can get busy on weekends.
