The crossroads of outback South Australia — literally where the bitumen ends and the real adventure begins. The old railway hotel serves as both pub and informal information center for track conditions ahead. The general store stocks basics like canned food, bread, and ice, plus some automotive bits. Fuel is available but pricey, as expected for the end of the sealed road.

This is your last chance for fresh supplies before either the Birdsville Track or Oodnadatta Track. The locals know current track conditions better than any website, so buy them a beer and ask. Can get crowded during school holidays with convoy traffic.
