Plitvice Lakes Entrance 1 Trailhead

Entrance 1 serves as the primary access point for Plitvice’s upper lake region, featuring the park’s most spectacular waterfalls and boardwalk system. The trailhead includes a large visitor center, ticket office, and designated parking areas that can handle overlanding rigs. From here, marked trails lead through a series of sixteen terraced lakes connected by waterfalls and cascades.

Arrive early in summer to secure parking — lots fill by mid-morning during peak season. The park operates year-round but winter brings ice and reduced services. Trail conditions vary seasonally; wooden boardwalks can be slippery when wet.
