Durmitor Ring Road Viewpoint

This unnamed but well-known viewpoint sits along the Durmitor Ring Road, offering spectacular views into the Tara River canyon and across to the jagged peaks of Durmitor National Park. A small pull-out area accommodates 4-5 vehicles, with a short walk to the cliff edge revealing one of Montenegro’s most photogenic vistas. Early morning light hits the canyon walls perfectly, making sunrise worth the effort.
The viewpoint sits roughly 15km from Žabljak along the partially paved ring road. Surface degrades to rough gravel in sections, manageable by any high-clearance vehicle but slow going. Snow closes the road November through April. No facilities here – bring water and pack out trash.
