BLM Bartlett Wash Dispersed Area
Bartlett Wash offers some of the most accessible dispersed camping near Moab, with dozens of established sites scattered across red rock benches and sandy washes. Most sites have existing fire rings and are large enough for big rigs with trailers. The area fills up during peak season (March-May, September-October) but you can usually find something. No facilities whatsoever — pack out everything.
Access is via a maintained dirt road suitable for any vehicle, though some individual sites require high clearance. The wash itself can be tricky after heavy rains. It’s about 15 minutes north of Moab, making it a perfect base camp for hitting trails like Hell’s Revenge or the Slickrock Trail. 14-day limit enforced by BLM rangers.
