Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Day Lake Campground

Established Campground

Day Lake sits tucked into the Chequamegon-Nicolet at the end of a short gravel spur, offering 28 sites around a crystal-clear 40-acre lake. Most sites have lake views, fire rings, and picnic tables, with vault toilets and a boat launch for small watercraft. The campground stays relatively quiet even in summer, with decent spacing between sites and thick forest buffer.

Access via Forest Road 142 off Highway 70 — watch for the small brown sign. The final mile is gravel but passable for any vehicle. Open May through October, with prime fishing for walleye and bass. No reservations, so arrive early on summer weekends.
