Timms Hill
Timms Hill tops out as Wisconsin’s high point, marked by a 60-foot observation tower that puts you above the treeline for 360-degree views. On clear days you can see across miles of Northwoods forest, lakes, and wetlands. The tower is sturdy steel construction with multiple platforms — worth the climb if you’re not spooked by heights. A small parking area and picnic table sit at the base.
Access is via paved county roads to within a quarter-mile, then a short gravel spur to the parking area. The site gets steady traffic from peak-baggers and families, but it’s never crowded. Winter access depends on county plowing — call ahead if you’re visiting off-season.
