Timms Hill National Trail
Timms Hill marks Wisconsin’s highest natural point at 1,951 feet above sea level. The trailhead has a decent gravel parking area that fits maybe 15 vehicles, plus pit toilets and a picnic shelter. The main attraction is a 45-foot observation tower with views across the Northwoods — on clear days you can see for miles. The trail itself is an easy 1.2-mile loop through mixed hardwood forest.
Access via Highway 86 to Rustic Road 62 (Timms Hill Road) — the last 2 miles are maintained gravel but fine for any vehicle. Open year-round but the tower may be closed in winter due to ice conditions. Popular with leaf-peepers in October. Decent cell service near the tower.
