Savanna Portage State Park
Sixty-two campsites spread across rolling hills where prairie meets hardwood forest, with modern facilities and a solid trail system. Half the sites are electric, showers and flush toilets available, and it stays busy on summer weekends with families but quiets down weekdays. Fire restrictions follow state guidelines — check current status before arrival.
Located on Highway 210 between McGregor and Tamarack, making it a perfect overnight stop when running trails in the Chippewa National Forest region. The park sits right on the Continental Divide, and you can walk the historic portage trail that connected the Mississippi and Lake Superior watersheds.
