Icelandic State Park

Historic state park on Devils Lake shoreline with camping, fishing, and cultural heritage site honoring Icelandic settlers.

Perched on the western shore of Devils Lake, Icelandic State Park offers established camping with electric hookups, modern restrooms, and a boat ramp. The park features wooded sites along the lakeshore and open areas for larger rigs, with fishing access to one of North Dakota’s premier walleye waters. The adjacent Gunlogson Nature Preserve adds hiking trails through prairie and wetlands.

The park honors North Dakota’s Icelandic heritage with a replica Viking ship and heritage center. Sites fill quickly during summer fishing season, especially on weekends. Winter camping available but water is shut off November through April.
