Scattered campsites along the ridgeline of Peavine Mountain offer commanding views of Reno-Sparks and the surrounding valleys at 7,000+ feet elevation. Sites are primitive with fire rings but no amenities, positioned among scattered pines and sagebrush. Popular with locals for cooler summer camping and fall hunting seasons.
Access via Peavine Mountain Road (Forest Road 018) from the north side requires high-clearance vehicles for the final rocky sections. Road can be muddy during spring snowmelt. No water available – pack everything in. Best accessed May through October when snow clears.
