This striking 1928 concrete arch bridge carries Highway 60 over the Hassayampa River west of Wickenburg. The bridge itself is an engineering marvel for its time, but the real draw is the rare desert riparian habitat below. The Hassayampa is one of Arizona’s few remaining free-flowing rivers, supporting cottonwoods, willows, and wildlife in an otherwise arid landscape.
Pull-offs on both sides of the bridge offer photo opportunities and river access. The area can be busy during winter months when snowbirds flock to the region. Spring brings wildflowers and migrating birds, while summer means extreme heat and flash flood potential.
