Tucked into a grove of red fir and white pine along the East Fork Kaweah River, this 21-site campground serves as base camp for Mineral King wilderness adventures. Sites are small but private, each with table, fire ring, and bear box. Vault toilets and hand-pump water available. Popular with backpackers heading into the high country. Fills early in summer, especially weekends.
Located 16 miles up the winding Mineral King Road from Three Rivers. The narrow, switchbacked road is not recommended for RVs over 22 feet or trailers. Open typically June through October, weather permitting. Sites are first-come, first-served. Expect cold nights even in summer at this elevation.
