Kinaskan Lake Provincial Park Campground

Remote lakeside camping on the Stewart-Cassiar Highway with excellent fishing and mountain views in the heart of grizzly country.

Forty sites spread along the shores of Kinaskan Lake, surrounded by peaks that still hold snow well into summer. The campground attracts serious anglers chasing lake trout and grayling, while the boat launch sees steady use from both fishing boats and canoes. Sites are well-spaced with fire rings and picnic tables, though the facilities are basic — pit toilets and a hand pump for water. Black bears and grizzlies frequent the area, so proper food storage is critical.

Access is directly off Highway 37, about 50 kilometers south of Iskut. The road can be rough in spring with frost heaves, but any vehicle can make it in decent weather. Park fills up during fishing season (late June through August), but shoulder seasons offer solitude and fewer bugs.
