Twenty-five vehicle sites tucked into towering spruce and fir forest at the head of Bowron Lake. This is base camp for the legendary 116-kilometer canoe circuit, but overlanders appreciate the solid facilities and stunning Cariboo Mountains backdrop. Sites are well-spaced with fire rings and picnic tables. The lake stretches out like glass most mornings, reflecting snowy peaks. Busy June through August with paddlers, but quieter shoulder seasons offer solitude.
Access via 28 kilometers of gravel road from Wells — washboard in spots but manageable for any vehicle. Vault toilets, hand-pumped water, and a boat launch. No hookups or showers. Reserve ahead for summer weekends. Park gates close at 11 PM.
