Juniper Springs Campground

Crystal-clear spring-fed swimming hole with developed camping in the heart of Ocala National Forest's sandy scrub country.

Juniper Springs sits in a pocket of old-growth forest where crystal-clear spring water bubbles up at a constant 72 degrees year-round. The campground has 79 sites scattered through live oak and palm hammocks, with most sites offering decent shade and privacy. The spring itself is the real draw — perfect for cooling off after dusty trail runs, with a short nature trail and canoe run downstream.

Sites fill up fast in winter and on weekends, so reservations are smart. The roads in are paved, but some of the campground loops are sandy dirt that can get soft after rain. No hookups, but there are restrooms, showers, and potable water. Fire restrictions common during dry spells.
