Nitty Gritty Offroad — Main Street Cortez Four Corners Overland and Recovery Gear Shop
Nitty Gritty Offroad is a small, locally run off-road and overland shop on East Main Street in Cortez. It sells rooftop tents, ground tents, recovery gear, sleeping bags, cooking supplies, wheels and tires, and lift kits and suspension (Skyjacker and KC lights are part of the mix). Their site says the install work runs out of a full-service NAPA AutoCare facility with ASE-certified techs. That matters out here. You can buy the part and get it bolted on in the same town.
Cortez sits at the doorstep of Mesa Verde, Canyons of the Ancients and the Dolores River country. It’s also a sensible resupply stop on the way to the San Juans or across to Utah’s Valley of the Gods. Heads up: their listings show two addresses (33 E Main St and 26202 Road L) and the posted hours differ between sources. Call (970) 565-3621 and verify ahead before you drive over. Have a dirty day.
