Eggum Camping — Vestvågøy Lofoten Coastal Campground

Established Campground

Eggum is a proper working campground on the northwestern fringe of Vestvågøy, set on a grassy shelf above a pebble beach with unobstructed views toward the Norwegian Sea. It’s lean on frills — basic toilet facilities, some electrical hookups, and a modest service building — but the setting earns its keep. You’re close enough to the water to hear it all night, and the light at midsummer does things here that no photograph gets right. Crowds are lighter than Reine or Henningsvær. Vans, small campers, and tents all work fine on the flat ground.

Access is via a narrow paved road off the E10 toward Eggum village — no drama for a standard overlanding rig. Open roughly late May through early September. No advance reservation typically needed outside high July weekends. The nearby Eggum WWII bunker trail is a short walk and worth the half hour.

Wild Lofoten coast, basic but real.
