Coldfoot Camp — Dalton Highway Arctic Circle Basecamp
Coldfoot sits at Mile 175 of the Dalton Highway and is the only full-service stop between Fairbanks and Deadhorse. The campground is a gravel pad setup managed alongside the truck stop — basic, no-frills, and exactly what you need. Flush toilets, showers, and a café that serves real food. Cell signal is minimal but the Bureau of Land Management Arctic Interagency Visitor Center here is genuinely useful for road conditions north of the Brooks Range, fire restrictions, and wildlife intel. Summer season gets crowded with adventure motorcyclists and overlanders; pull in early.
Access is paved to Livengood then gravel for the Dalton — washboard varies by season and maintenance cycle. The campground is open roughly late May through September. Fuel is available here — top off every time. North of Coldfoot there is nothing until Deadhorse.
Last real stop before the Brooks Range.
