Turkey Creek Station Road — Ord River Crossing Viewpoint
This is where the Bungle Bungle track gets real. The Ord River crossing on the Turkey Creek Station Road sits roughly between Warmun and the Purnululu National Park boundary, and it’s the kind of ford that turns rigs around when the wet season hasn’t fully cleared. The surrounding terrain is classic Kimberley — ochre escarpments, spinifex flats, boab trees standing sentinel over cracked red earth. When the water is behaving, the crossing is spectacular. When it isn’t, you’re not getting through.
Check current conditions with Parks and Wildlife WA before committing — the road beyond Warmun is unsealed and deteriorates fast after rain. High-clearance 4WD is the minimum and should be considered a hard requirement, not a suggestion. No facilities at the crossing itself. Cell service is essentially nonexistent from Warmun outbound.
Kimberley river ford — read it before you run it.
