Brandberg Mountain — Königstein Summit Massif Viewpoint

Brandberg is hard to miss — a granite massif rising 2,573 metres from the Namib plains, glowing amber and red at sunrise and sunset like something terraformed. It’s Namibia’s highest point and it looks the part. The mountain is most visited for the White Lady rock painting site in the Tsisab Ravine, an ancient San Bushman site that still draws serious attention from archaeologists. But even if you’re not here for the art, standing at the base of this thing as the Damaraland heat bakes around you is a full-body experience.

The access road from the D2359 is rough gravel — manageable for high-clearance vehicles but punishing at speed. No facilities at the mountain itself beyond the NamParks-managed parking and guide meeting point. A guide is mandatory for visiting the White Lady — they’re local and worth the fee. Best visited April through September; summer heat here is genuinely dangerous.
