The only bridge crossing of the Yukon River in Alaska, this spot marks a major milestone on any northern adventure. The bridge carries both the Dalton Highway and the trans-Alaska pipeline 2,290 feet across the river. Pullouts on both sides offer photo ops of the pipeline infrastructure and the massive river valley. Popular truck stop for Prudhoe Bay haulers. Wind can be fierce here year-round.
Located exactly at mile 56 of the Dalton Highway, about 6 hours north of Fairbanks. Gravel pullouts get muddy in wet weather. No facilities — just a historic marker and endless views of Alaska’s interior wilderness stretching in all directions.
