Volcán Lanín Summit Viewpoint
Spectacular viewpoint offering unobstructed views of Volcán Lanín’s 3,776-meter perfect cone, often snow-capped and reflecting in the alpine lakes below. On clear days, you can see both the Argentine and Chilean sides of this sacred Mapuche mountain. The overlook sits at the end of a rough track accessible to high-clearance vehicles, with informal camping spots nearby.
Best light is early morning or late afternoon when the volcanic cone glows. The access road can be muddy after rain and may require 4WD in wet conditions. This viewpoint is particularly stunning during autumn (March-May) when the southern beech forests turn gold and red around the volcanic base.
