Multiple established sites scattered along Forest Road 267 between Mirror Lake and Tincup Pass summit at 12,154 feet. Mix of meadow and forested spots accommodating everything from tent camping to large expedition rigs. Fire rings present at most sites with decent spacing for privacy. Popular staging area for exploring Cumberland Pass, Taylor Pass, and the ghost town of Tincup.
Access from either Taylor Park (west side) or St. Elmo (east side) via well-maintained but steep gravel roads. Western approach involves crossing Taylor River multiple times. Best June through October, though snow can linger at higher elevations into July. Sites at treeline offer incredible sunrise views but afternoon storms roll in fast.
