Rocky Mountain National Park Moraine Park Campground
Moraine Park sits at 8,160 feet in a broad glacial valley with unobstructed views of the Continental Divide. This 244-site campground is the largest in Rocky Mountain National Park, with paved loops winding through open meadows dotted with aspen groves. Elk are common visitors, especially during evening hours — maintain distance and secure food. Sites accommodate rigs up to 40 feet on select loops. No hookups, but vault toilets and potable water throughout.
Access is via Bear Lake Road from Estes Park — paved all the way but can be congested in summer. Reservations essential May through September; book months ahead. Winter camping available with limited services November through April. Elevation means cool nights even in summer and potential afternoon thunderstorms.
