Potash Road Dispersed Camping

Free BLM dispersed camping along the Colorado River with red rock scenery and easy access to multiple climbing areas.

This popular BLM dispersed area stretches for several miles along Highway 279 (Potash Road), offering free camping with stunning red rock backdrops and Colorado River access. Sites range from established pullouts with fire rings to more primitive spots tucked behind boulders. Most sites can handle RVs up to about 30 feet, though some require careful maneuvering. Popular with climbers accessing Wall Street and nearby crags.

The 14-day limit is strictly enforced, and sites fill early during peak season (March-May, September-October). No water, toilets, or trash service — pack it all out. Road is paved but some camping spurs are sandy. Watch for flash flood potential in washes.

Free riverside camping under red rock towers.
