Pine Barrens Jenkins Neck Road Dispersed Sites
Jenkins Neck Road branches off the main Batona Trail access into a network of sandy two-tracks that lead to 6-8 dispersed camping areas. Sites are carved out of typical Pine Barrens scrub — low oak, pitch pine, and sandy soil that drains fast after rain. Most spots are small and tight, perfect for truck campers and smaller rigs. The sand can get soft in spots, but it’s generally firm enough for careful driving.
This is deep Pine Barrens country, so expect complete quiet except for the occasional dirt bike or ATV passing through. No water sources nearby, and cell service is spotty at best. Fire restrictions are common during dry periods, so check current conditions. The sandy roads can be confusing — bring a GPS or map and mark your way in.
