Otway National Park Aire River East Campground
Aire River East sits where the river flows into the Southern Ocean along the Great Ocean Road, offering 28 sites in coastal scrubland with resident kangaroos and echidnas. Sites are gravel with picnic tables and fire rings, plus clean drop toilets and tank water. The beach is a short walk through dunes, popular with surfers and fishermen, though the Southern Ocean is cold year-round.
Access is via 2km of gravel road from the Great Ocean Road — suitable for any vehicle but can be muddy after rain. Book ahead in summer and holidays as this is a popular stop on the Great Ocean Road circuit. Fires are permitted in designated rings outside fire ban periods, and fresh water is from tank supply only.
