Sits at the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin Rivers where they form the mighty Missouri. Twenty-three sites spread across open prairie with cottonwoods providing scattered shade. Sites are spacious but exposed — expect wind. Popular with history buffs visiting the Lewis and Clark interpretive trails. Fire rings at each site, vault toilets, and a boat ramp for river access.
Located 3 miles northeast of Three Forks on paved roads. Open year-round but water is shut off October through April. Can fill up on summer weekends — reservations recommended. The historic headwaters monument and walking trails are worth the visit even if you’re not camping.
