Kolyma River Zyryanka Settlement Spring
Natural spring flowing year-round in the ruins of Zyryanka, a Soviet-era settlement along the Kolyma River. Clear, cold water emerges from bedrock and has been used by travelers for decades. The surrounding area is littered with abandoned buildings and rusted machinery, creating an eerie post-apocalyptic atmosphere typical of the Kolyma region.
Located roughly 50 meters behind the settlement’s main cluster of ruins, marked by a small stone cairn. Spring runs even in winter, though ice may form at the outlet. Water quality is excellent, but standard backcountry filtration is recommended. No facilities remain in the settlement.
