Kolyma River Debin Settlement Water Well
This concrete-lined well sits among the ruins of Debin, a former gold mining settlement along the Kolyma River. The well was drilled in the 1950s and still produces clean, cold water year-round. Metal debris from mining operations litters the area, but the wellhead remains accessible and functional.
Located roughly 200 kilometers northeast of Magadan via the R504 and mining access roads. The approach crosses several creek fords that may be impassable during spring melt. Water testing recommended, though locals from nearby active mines use this source regularly.
