Iguazu Falls Devil’s Throat Viewpoint

Point of Interest

The Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat) is the crown jewel of the 275 waterfalls that make up Iguazu — a U-shaped chasm where 1,756 cubic meters of water per second crashes down in a deafening roar. The viewpoint sits directly above the falls via a 1.1-kilometer walkway through subtropical rainforest. Mist rises 150 meters, creating constant rainbows and soaking visitors. Early morning offers the best light and fewer crowds.

Access via the Ecological Jungle Train from the park visitor center, then the walkway over the Iguazu River. Waterproof gear essential — you will get drenched. Peak flow season is October through March. The Argentine side offers this dramatic overhead perspective while the Brazilian side provides panoramic views of the entire falls system.
