Tucked into a spruce-fir forest at 9,800 feet, this 26-site USFS campground sits along Geneva Creek with excellent trout fishing and fourteener access. Sites are well-spaced among mature trees with fire rings and picnic tables, though no hookups or showers. The campground serves as base camp for Mount Bierstadt and nearby peaks, plus it’s a peaceful alternative to busier Front Range options.
Accessed via the scenic Guanella Pass Road from Georgetown. Road is paved but steep with switchbacks — manageable for most RVs under 30 feet. Elevation means cool nights even in summer and early snow by October. No reservations — first-come, first-served fills fast on weekends.
