Forestville Mystery Cave State Park
This unique state park combines a restored 1890s village with Minnesota’s longest cave system. The campground offers 73 sites (16 with electric hookups) spread across rolling prairie and oak savanna. Sites are spacious with fire rings and picnic tables. The park sits in the scenic Root River valley with good trout fishing nearby.
The historic Forestville townsite and Mystery Cave tours are the main draws here. Cave stays a constant 48°F year-round, so bring a jacket. The campground fills on summer weekends, especially during cave tour season. Access is via paved roads about 4 miles south of Preston.
