Finger Lakes National Forest Burnt Hill Road Dispersed Sites
A handful of pull-offs along Burnt Hill Road offer decent dispersed camping in mixed hardwood forest. Sites are naturally spaced 100+ yards apart along the gravel road, with room for medium-sized rigs and decent privacy. Fire rings at most spots, though bring your own grate. Gets busy on summer weekends with local hunters and ATV riders, but quiet midweek.
Access via County Road 2 from Hector, then 2.5 miles on maintained gravel. Road can get muddy in spring but passable for high-clearance 2WD most seasons. No facilities, pack it out. Watch for ATVs sharing the road during hunting season.
