Ennedi Est — Bisset Canyon Wadi Floor Dispersed Camp
This is the kind of camp that doesn’t exist on any map and that’s exactly the point. The eastern Ennedi Massif between Fada and Wour is a labyrinth of eroded sandstone canyons, and the Bisset Canyon corridor offers flat, compacted wadi floors wide enough for a small convoy. Shade arrives in the early morning and late afternoon as the canyon walls do their work. No facilities, no other rigs, no noise except wind and the occasional francolin. Capacity is self-limiting — maybe three to four vehicles before you start feeling crowded.
Access from Fada runs east on the piste toward Wour — expect deep sand, rocky shelf crossings, and zero signage. A GPS track from a reliable source or a local guide is non-negotiable. Season runs November through March; summer heat and the brief rainy season make this corridor dangerous and impassable. Self-sufficiency is absolute — carry all water, fuel, and recovery gear. No cell signal anywhere in this corridor.
