Death Valley National Park — Wildrose Canyon Road Dispersed Camp

Wildrose Canyon Road climbs from the Panamint Valley floor up into the range, and along the lower and middle sections there are pull-offs and flat alluvial benches where rigs can camp dispersed-style under NPS rules. The terrain is open desert wash — creosote, Joshua trees at elevation, big sky, and zero light pollution. No facilities whatsoever. You’re in one of the quietest corridors in Death Valley, with the Panamints rising hard above you and the valley floor dropping away below. Spring and fall are prime; summer will cook you alive.

Access is via Trona-Wildrose Road from the Panamint Valley side. The lower canyon road is typically passable by high-clearance 2WD, though washboard and occasional loose gravel are standard. NPS dispersed camping rules apply: camp 1 mile from paved roads and 100 feet from water sources. No campfire rings provided — check current fire restrictions before lighting anything. 14-day stay limit.
