Daintree National Park Noah Beach Camping Area
Noah Beach puts you right on the sand where the world’s oldest rainforest drops straight into the Coral Sea. The 12 sites sit just back from the beach under coconut palms and pandanus trees, with the sound of waves mixing with the calls of tropical birds. This is serious crocodile country — swimming is forbidden and you’ll see plenty of warning signs. Facilities are basic: pit toilets and no drinking water, so bring everything you need.
Access requires crossing the Daintree River by cable ferry, then 20 minutes on sealed road through dense rainforest. The camping area often fills with grey nomads during dry season (May-October), but wet season brings intense humidity, cyclone risk, and access challenges. Keep food secured — cassowaries patrol the area and can be aggressive if they associate humans with food.
