Carrauntoohil Cronin’s Yard Trailhead
Small gravel parking area at the historic farmstead of Cronin’s Yard, the classic approach to Carrauntoohil summit. Basic facilities include composting toilet and water tap. Family-run operation charges modest parking fee but provides local knowledge and trail conditions. Limited space fills early on weekends.
Access via the scenic Black Valley road from Moll’s Gap — narrow, winding tarmac for the final 5 miles. Road can be dicey in winter weather. Alternative parking at nearby Hag’s Glen adds 2 miles but has more capacity for larger vehicles.
