Beaver Creek — White Mountains NRA Corridor Viewpoint
Beaver Creek is the wild heart of the White Mountains National Recreation Area. From any high point along the Nome Creek Road loop, you’ll catch sight of this braided, clear-water drainage cutting through spruce flats and open tundra benches. The creek drains into the Yukon River system and is a federally designated Wild and Scenic River — which means it’s protected and spectacular. Moose are frequent in the willow tangles. The light on the water in late June and early July is worth stopping for every time.
No formal overlook infrastructure exists — this is BLM Alaska backcountry. Pull off on a stable gravel section and get out. Bug pressure is real from late May through mid-July. Bring head nets. Water from the creek is present but requires treatment.
