Sites are informal pullouts on flat ground; no developed amenities, no fee, no reservation. Expect company on summer weekends and hunting season but genuine quiet midweek.

The road is well-maintained gravel to start, transitioning to rougher two-track the deeper you push. High-clearance 2WD handles the lower sections; 4WD helps in wet conditions. Stay limits apply under standard USFS 14-day rules. Check fire restrictions with the Gunnison Ranger District before you pull in — this area runs under Stage 1 or Stage 2 bans frequently in dry summers.
