Sedona Ranger District Visitor Center — Red Rock Pass and Trail Intel

Point of Interest

The Coconino National Forest’s Sedona Ranger District office sits right in town and is your primary resource before running Schnebly Hill Road or any of the dispersed areas nearby. Pick up a Red Rock Pass here — required for parking at most trailheads and pull-offs in the corridor. Staff can tell you current road conditions, active fire restrictions, and whether Schnebly Hill is passable. They also stock the Coconino topo maps that actually show the forest roads correctly.

Located on AZ-179 near the Village of Oak Creek junction. Hours are generally weekday business hours with limited weekend availability — call ahead. If the office is closed, passes are available at automated kiosks at major trailheads. Don’t skip this stop if you’re unfamiliar with the area. Red Rock Pass enforcement is real here.

Get your pass and road intel before you roll.
