Lower Lehman Creek Campground — Great Basin National Park
Lower Lehman Creek is the workhorse campground of Great Basin National Park — open year-round, sitting at roughly 7,300 feet alongside Lehman Creek in a pinyon-juniper and mountain mahogany mix. It’s the most accessible developed site in the park and the one to know about if you’re arriving in shoulder season when Wheeler Peak Road is closed or Baker Creek is iced over. Eleven sites with vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. It’s quieter than Upper Lehman and gets less summer foot traffic.
Drive in on the paved park road off NV-488, about 5 miles from Baker. Any rig handles this road without issue. No hookups, no reservations — strictly first-come. Water availability is seasonal; confirm with the park visitor center in Baker before counting on it. Cell service is dead here. Good jumping-off point for Lehman Caves tours (short drive) and the Snake Range backcountry including the Bunker Hill corridor.
