Divide Forks Campground — Uncompahgre National Forest

Divide Forks sits at the heart of the Uncompahgre Plateau road network, right where Divide Road meets the spur routes heading west toward the rim. It’s a small, quiet camp — vault toilet, a handful of sites with fire rings and tables, and ponderosa pines providing decent shade. No piped water, so bring your own or treat from nearby sources. The elevation keeps it cool well into July, and it empties out fast after Labor Day. Fire restrictions hit hard in drought years — check with the Montrose Ranger District before you show up expecting a campfire.

Access is via Divide Road (FR 402) off CO-90 or from the Montrose side on Sanborn Park Road. The road is well-maintained gravel for most rigs but can get muddy after heavy rain. Season is typically late May through October depending on snowpack. No reservations — first come, first served.
