Glacier Basin Campground — Rocky Mountain National Park
Glacier Basin sits at roughly 9,520 feet inside Rocky Mountain National Park, practically on top of the Glacier Gorge and Bear Lake trailhead area. With 150 sites spread through forested terrain, it’s a serious high-altitude camp — cool nights even in July, and when storms roll off the Continental Divide they hit here first. Group sites available. Flush toilets, drinking water, and a dump station are all on-site. Shuttle access to Bear Lake runs from the campground itself, making it the most logical base for anyone running the Glacier Gorge corridor.
Reservations required and they go fast — book months out for any summer weekend. Bear Lake Road is paved all the way to the campground. Season typically runs late May through early October depending on snowpack. Fire restrictions are common in late summer. Bear canister or food locker use required.
