Rosemont Dispersed Camping Area
Scattered among the oak and juniper at 5,000+ feet elevation, this dispersed area offers a welcome escape from desert heat. Multiple established fire rings and level spots accommodate rigs up to 30 feet, though the rocky access road demands attention. Popular with hunters in fall and stargazers year-round thanks to dark skies and commanding views across the Tucson Basin.
Forest Road 62 climbs steadily from the pavement — high-clearance recommended for the final miles to the better spots. Water is scarce; pack everything you need. Winter snow can close access December through March.
