Moose Horn Territorial Campground — Klondike Highway
Moose Horn is a small Yukon Government territorial campground situated on the North Klondike Highway (Highway 2), north of the Klondike River crossing and south of the Dempster junction area. It’s a reliable overnight for overlanders driving the corridor between Dawson City and the Dempster Highway junction at Dawson, set in classic northern boreal terrain with spruce, muskeg pockets, and open sky. Outhouses and fire rings on site; no hookups, no showers, no noise.
Access is paved or well-graded gravel off the Klondike Highway — straightforward for any vehicle. Seasonal opening typically tracks late May through September depending on road conditions and snow. Water is not reliable on site, so carry enough from Dawson City. Cell service is nonexistent. This is a stop for those running the northern Yukon corridor, not a destination, and that’s exactly why it works.
Simple northern stopover before the Dempster.
