Talbot Arm Motel and Campground — Destruction Bay

Established Campground

Talbot Arm sits right on the Alaska Highway at Destruction Bay with Kluane Lake practically lapping at the property line. It’s a private operation — motel rooms, a small café, and a campground with pull-through sites that handle big rigs and trailers without drama. Not a wilderness experience, but after a few days on the Kluane North Shore Road or the Donjek Route, having a shower and a hot meal on the same block matters. Fuel is available here, which makes it a legitimate resupply anchor for the stretch between Haines Junction and Burwash Landing.

Sites are open gravel, minimal shade, exposed to the lake wind — which keeps the bugs down and the sunsets spectacular. The Alaska Highway is right there, so expect highway noise. Open seasonally from roughly May through September. Cell signal is marginal at best in this corridor. Reservations recommended in peak July-August travel season.
